San Francisco has adopted water, power, sewer, and stormwater requirements that reduce demand on drinking water supplies, protect water quality, utilize clean and cost-effective energy and ensure sewer system function. To assist developers and property owners in meeting these requirements, the SFPUC provides project plan review, permitting oversight, technical assistance, and incentives. The following resources are available to help you understand these requirements and how to meet them:
- Requirements & Contacts Factsheet – provides a brief overview of the requirements, which requirements are applicable, and who to contact.
- Requirements Manual – provides more in-depth information about each requirement and how to comply.
- If you need a permit for a small business, you may qualify for expedited review under Proposition H. Visit our Prop H Website for more information.
