The objective of the project is to implement safety improvements within the wind tower located in front of San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) Headquarters at 525 Golden Gate Avenue in San Francisco, California. A Class “A" or "B” California Contractors License is required to bid. Furthermore, each listed subcontractor must possess appropriate active licenses for the work each subcontractor will be performing.
Bid discounts may be applied as per San Francisco Administrative Code Chapter 14B. The Local Business Enterprise (LBE) Subcontracting Participation Requirement is 0.00%. The LBE subcontractor participation requirement was waived for this contract. The project team contacted all the Contract Monitoring Division (CMD) certified LBEs in relevant CMD categories, conducting extensive good faith outreach to potential subcontractors. Because of the specialized nature of metal fabrication and installation work on this project, there have been very limited availability and response from CMD certified LBEs. The results of the SFPUC’s outreach and subcontractor research showed that not enough LBEs were available for the LBE subcontracting requirement to be established.
