The objective of the project is to provide redundancy to the aging pipelines of San Francisco's water distribution system. The work to be performed under this contract includes the installation of a new 8" ductile iron pipe on Green St. from Gough St. to Broderick St. The work is to be performed in San Francisco, California.
Bid discounts may be applied as per San Francisco Administrative Code Chapter 14B. The LBE Subcontracting Participation Requirement is 15.00% and ONLY San Francisco (Local) Small & Micro-LBEs can be utilized to meet this requirement (Firms certified by SF Contract Monitoring Division). SFPUC-LBEs cannot be utilized to meet the 15.00% LBE Subcontracting Participation Requirement. The LBE subcontractor participation requirement for this contract is less than 20% for the following reasons: The LBE requirement was determined by the applicable LBE subcontracting availability to construct the Contract work. The project scope in general includes experienced contractors to perform pavement restoration per DPW Order No. 187,005 for excavations in street and sidewalks done by others. The excavations are for water pipeline installation, water service and water meter installations, meter box installations and adjustments. The pavement restoration work requires the paving and earthwork contractors to coordinate his/her work with works to be done by SFWD for this project which includes saw cutting, breaking, resurface/replace street pavement and reconstructing sidewalks and curb ramps within the project limits. The specialty work as described have limited LBE subcontractor availability to perform such work and reduced the overall LBE subcontractor participation requirement for this Contract.
