The objective of the project is to remotely operate various existing Auxiliary Water Supply System (AWSS) manual gate valve locations, upgrade existing motorized gate valve locations, replace and relocate existing gate valve, and install new facilities for connecting and controlling backup water supply for the AWSS piping facilities. The work is to be performed in San Francisco, California. The Engineer's estimate is $5,500,000. The Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder.
Bid discounts may be applied as per San Francisco Administrative Code Chapter 14B. The LBE Subcontracting Participation Requirement is 11.00% and ONLY San Francisco (Local) Small & Micro-LBEs can be utilized to meet this requirement (Firms certified by SF Contract Monitoring Division). SFPUC-LBEs cannot be utilized to meet the 11.00% LBE Subcontracting Participation Requirement. The 11% requirement has been established in part due to the work breakdown and current LBE availability. Subcontracting opportunities may include, but not limited, to the following major types of work: traffic control, earthwork and paving, carpentry, pipeline, trucking and hauling, general concrete work.

Hard copy versions of the plans and specifications are only available by mail or by appointment for pick up for an additional fee of $150.00.
