The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (“SFPUC”) is issuing this Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) in search of candidates pre-qualified to respond to one or more forthcoming Request for Bids (“RFB”) to provide design-build services for Contract No. DB-129, Bay Corridor Transmission and Distribution – Phase 2 (2018) (the “Project”) pursuant to Administrative Code Subsection 6.61(b), “Competitive Bid Procurement.”
A “Design-Builder” is the lead entity responding to this RFQ. A “Design-Builder Team” must include a Builder, a Designer, and an Electrical (Sub)contractor.
The SFPUC seeks to retain the services of a Design-Builder to provide design-build services for the Bay Corridor Transmission and Distribution – Phase 2 (2018) Project located in San Francisco, California. Design-build services may include, but are not limited to: civil, survey, structural, geotechnical and electrical engineering and design services; pre-construction planning; permitting; hazardous soil/material assessment and soil profiling; procurement of materials and equipment; construction/installation and testing of electrical duct banks, underground vaults, electrical circuits and appurtenances; construction of sidewalks, ADA curb ramps, street paving and traffic striping; construction/installation of utility trenchless crossing under active railroad tracks (tracks are operated by both public and private agencies); and retrofit/improvement of existing Islais Creek bores and associated vaults and anchor blocks. Work contained in this Project will occur in the eastern portion of San Francisco.
Whether a Candidate has such qualifications will be determined through the evaluation process described in Section 6.0 of this RFQ. Candidates chosen through this process (“Pre-Qualified Contractors”) will be notified of their eligibility to submit proposals for design-build services associated with the Project. Candidates responding to this RFQ do so with the understanding that the SFPUC does not guarantee the award of any contract or work as a result of pre-qualification.
