Southeast Working Group

SEWG Meetings

Next Meeting: Thursday, 2/19, 6 PM

Where: Alex Pitcher Room, Southeast Community Facility, 1800 Oakdale (unless otherwise noted)

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) Southeast Working Group (SEWG) was created to provide a public forum to discuss the SFPUC projects and activities in the Southeast. The goal is to work with residents, businesses, community organizations and others to help build a better Southeast community.

What will the SFPUC Southeast Working Group do?

In 2009, a community advisory group called the Digesters Task Force was formed and reached consensus on moving forward with the replacement of the digesters at the Southeast Treatment Plant. The SEWG will build on the work of the Task Force as the project moves into the planning and design. The SEWG will also provide input on other activities the SFPUC is undertaking in the Southeast.

Similar to the 2009 Digester Task Force, the SEWG is made up of a cross-section of people in the Southeast including residents, business owners, and community group leaders based in the Southeast. The group also includes members from the Digester Task Force and members from two existing SFPUC advisory bodies, including the Southeast Community Facility Commission and the Wastewater Citizens Advisory Committee Subcommittee.

The SEWG is a non-voting community platform. SEWG members will be asked to provide input on project-related issues ranging from land-use, aesthetics, traffic, and other project-specific challenges. For 2014, the overall goal is to create a representative community forum that works with the SFPUC project technical team members to help provide input on the replacement of the new Biosolids Digester Facilities Project.

Meeting Dates of the SEWG

SEWG meetings will be held on as-needed basis. Regularly scheduled meetings will be held between 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Southeast Community Facility in the Alex Pitcher Room located at 1800 Oakdale unless otherwise noted. Meetings are open to the public.

How Does The Public Get Involved?
Image of man and womanSEWG meetings are open to the public and will be noticed via the SFPUC website. SEWG meeting times, agendas and meeting minutes will be hosted on the SFPUC website.
Community members may choose to offer public comment at the end of each of the SEWG meetings. Later this year, the SFPUC intends to collect public feedback at public meetings/open house events and via online surveys regarding the new Biosolids Digester Facilities project.
