In July 2015, we have made modifications to SFPUC's Floodwater Grant Program (Grant) to better serve the needs of property owners in San Francisco to help minimize their risk of property damage due to flooding.

In addition to flood barriers and backflow preventers, these modifications expand the types of eligible projects to include flood walls and special projects (doorway adjustments / modifications and associated stairs, doorway waterproofing, grade adjustments to property owned by the Applicant, plumbing/drainage modifications, or projects of a similar nature/scale.)

Please see the Grant Guidelines and Terms for more information. Please read these important tips as you're applying for the Grants.

Funding is available on a first-come-first-served basis, so submit your application today, and get ready for the rainy season.
