Overview

The Sewer System Improvement Program (SSIP) is a 20-year, multi-billion dollar citywide investment required to upgrade our aging sewer infrastructure to ensure a reliable and seismically safe sewer system now and for generations to come.

The SSIP will upgrade our grey infrastructure for reliability and regulatory compliance; implement innovative green infrastructure projects; and all of these vital upgrades will protect the health of our community and environment.
