Trail outings will be led by trained volunteers in order to protect this fragile ecosystem. Opportunities for volunteer leaders are actually as diverse as the natural resources in the Watershed. Amateur naturalists, artists, students, gardeners and many others will find a place to share their knowledge and experience as tour leaders. Your contribution can make a big difference.
Have fun and volunteer to lead a hike, bike ride or horse ride. You can volunteer to lead a group of up to twenty people on an outing along the scenic Fifield-Cahill Ridge Trail. In order to lead a group, you must be able to provide your own equipment for the mode of travel you propose to lead (e.g., if you propose to lead a group of bicyclists, you must have your own bike). Training will be provided by the SFPUC and you will be asked to sign-up for days and times of your choice. Outings will be designed with the trail users in mind, and will consist of short, medium and long tours.
All volunteers are welcome; if you have expertise in areas such as bird watching, plant identification or other interests and expertise in nature and the environment, you can make the trail experience for others special and informative.
We are always looking for volunteers to lead events in the future. As soon as we have trail leaders for these event, we will be able to offer them to the public.
To apply as a volunteer Trail Leader, download the application form. The link is located at the bottom of this page. Complete the form and return it to the address on the form.
