The next phase of the project, the Tesla Portal Protection Project is underway. This work includes construction and renovatation of protective facilities at the site. This last phase of the project is anticipated to be complete by mid year, 2013.
Project Description
The Tesla Treatment Facility Project combines the construction of a new ultraviolet (UV) water treatment facility with a new chemical water treatment building, an operations building, tanks and other support structures.
With a capacity of 315 million gallons per day (mgd), the new UV water treatment facility will be the third largest in the United States.
The new chemical storage and water treatment facilities will replace the existing 75 year–old structures, which do not meet current earthquake standards.
