The objective of the project will be to complete repairs along the Lower Cherry Aqueduct system, including work at Cherry Creek diversion dam, open canal reaches, pipe aerial crossing, and forebay. The scope of the project will include: rehabilitation of the existing Cherry Creek diversion dam, installation of two (2) new sluice gates with control unit and four (4) new slide gates, replacement of the hydraulic control room and gatehouse, rehabilitation of the diversion dam access trail, repair of reinforced concrete saddles at the aerial crossing, installation of 5,107 linear feet of pipe rail fence along open canal reaches, installation of three (3) bridges spanning the open canal, replacement of the 16-inch forebay drain pipe, and construction of a cover over the top of the existing forebay. The work is to be performed in Stanislaus, CA.
This project is funded through California State grant funds and is eligible for FEMA reimbursement; S.F. Administrative Code Chapter 14B is not applicable and there is no LBE or DBE subcontracting requirement for this project. However, Bidders are encouraged to use of DBE firms, San Francisco Local Certified Small & Micro-LBEs and regional SFPUC-LBEs to the extent possible.

An additional site inspection will be held at requested locations along the Lower Cherry Aqueduct Alignment on Monday, January 29, 2018. Meeting location for the additional site visit will be at 1-Lakeshore Drive, Moccasin, CA Main Dining Room at 10:00 AM. A City Representative will be available to escort Contractors from Moccasin to the Lower Cherry Aqueduct Site. This site visit will provide contractors an opportunity to see City supply materials located in Moccasin (such as sluice gates/slide gates).
