Project Description
The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) Wastewater Enterprise is in the process of investigating the cost and implementation of stormwater management projects on residential properties in San Francisco. Of particular interest are landscape-based stormwater management technologies, also known as green infrastructure, such as rain gardens, bioretention, permeable pavement, rainwater harvesting cisterns, and impervious surface removal. At a city-wide scale, the goals of these technologies are to improve collection system performance during wet weather and to educate residents and businesses about watershed health and San Francisco’s sewer system. More information on these technologies is presented in the table attachments.  In addition to cost information, the SFPUC is also interested in the capacity and experience of firms actively designing and building these stormwater management tools and experience of community-based organizations working at the residential scale.

The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to gather information on the cost and implementation of residential-scale stormwater retrofit projects in San Francisco, and the capacity and experience of firms performing the work. The RFI is broken out into two (2) sections:

Section 1: Landscape Design Project Costs and Construction

Section 2: Project Management, Administration, and Outreach

This RFI is intended for contractors, Green Infrastructure Practitioners and/or Community-Based Organizations with experience in residential-scale landscape design, construction, plumbing, project management, grant administration, and/or community outreach.  Contractors may choose to respond to as many or as few questions as applicable to the contractors’ area(s) of expertise. Please review and respond to the following questions and complete the supplementary Excel file provided based on your experience as a contractor, Community-Based Organization, and/or Green Infrastructure Practitioner.

Please submit your information to CAB@sfwater.org no later than close of business Friday, April 24th, 2020.
